I am a self taught artist born and raised in the Midwest. I grew up in a small country town in Wisconsin where the smell of sweet corn and cows made you feel at home.
I graduated high school when I was sixteen years old. When I was a kid, I would doodle on anything I could get my hands on. Napkins at a restaurant, homework papers, school textbooks, church bulletins, the walls on occasion - anywhere I could express my wild creativity. Little did I know that those insignificant doodles would someday turn into illustrations people would pay for.
While still in school, I started working a costumer service job at an art store close to home to earn money to start college. Since then, I have been hired as an illustrator and designer for an online stamping and papercrafting company, began teaching watercolor classes, designed artwork for multiple large companies and businesses, built my social media following, and launched my own business and LLC.
I use many different mediums, but my favorite will always be watercolor.
It inspires me with the way it can't be controlled.
When I first started painting, I was just a little girl. Granted, it was either finger-paints or Crayola, but nevertheless, I have always been an avid CREATOR.
I would draw during school, church, on the road to anywhere, and pretty much whenever I was supposed to be paying attention.
I am living my dream being a painter and artist, striving to put to good use my mom and dad's investments in all my art supplies, endless stacks of paper, and every animal drawing book you can imagine as a kid.
They taught me that dreams are possible, and that with enough hard work and dedication, you can and WILL achieve them!
My guilty pleasures are blue moon or cookie dough ice cream and chocolate chip cookies without the chocolate chips ‘cause I’m weird like that. But I HAVE to have a glass of milk with them even though I don’t like milk plain any other time
My unique fashion style is a combination of bohemian vintage, "why the heck is she wearing something that looks like it was made 40 years ago?", and just got climbed out of bed chic.
I am always on the hunt for vintage treasures. I love old things. Basically, if your grandma likes it, I probably will too.
I’m also extremely hypermobile, when I first hear a song that I really like I listen to it over and over until I get sick of it, I have POTS disease and asthma which basically means I’m dizzy and wheezy pretty much most of the time, I love to upcycle old clothes, I probably pin about 150 pins a day on Pinterest, I adore peanut butter cups but I don’t like chocolate or peanut butter by themselves, I think overalls are super cute, I love making my husband creeped out by crossing my eyes because he absolutely hates it, and I could live off of fruit.
I'm a doggy mama to my loveable Golden Retriever puppy, Shadow! AND a mama to my baby girl due June 19th, 2020!
I love fashion design and creating unique clothing styles!
I pretend to be a photographer with my fancy iPhone and cheap editing apps haha.
Why the name Heartland Lane Paper Co.?
Heartland Lane is the street I lived on as a little girl, and ultimately where my love of art began!
